Our interview with Doreen released on her YouTube channel six months ago now. As of today, that video has been viewed 1,196,188 times. We don’t share that number to boast in any way or bring a spotlight upon us whatsoever.
Truthfully, we only share this information because it points to something greater than us (and even greater than Joyce Meyer)- people are hungry for truth and they are waking up to the false teaching that has been so prevalent in our nation and nations around the world (thanks to TV, radio, and now the internet) for decades upon decades.
Since we shared our story, we have heard from thousands of people from literally all over the globe who have been encouraged to continue to seek for answers regarding the dangers of the Word of Faith Movement and other false teaching they may be/have been entrapped by.
Some have had their “eyes opened” by hearing our story and watching our interview with Doreen (PRAISE GOD!!! 🙌🏻). Whether they were involved in these dangerous movements for decades or just a few years, God has set their feet on a beautiful, yet difficult, journey of uncovering false beliefs/ideologies they may have been believing and replacing it with His perfect truth that can only be found in His Holy written Word. Just like He did for us years ago when we began this journey back in 2015, the Lord has so graciously and mercifully removed the blinders and they are seeing the Bible with brand new eyes! All glory to God!
Others who have reached out to us are new on this journey to truth (thanks to other ministries and resources such as Justin Peters, the American Gospel films (American Gospel: Christ Alone NOW ON NETFLIX!), Lindsay Davis-Knotts, Costi Hinn and the pastors of Redeemer Bible Church, Chris Rosebrough of Fighting for the Faith Ministries, Doreen Virtue, Polite Leader, and many others like these wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ) and our video merely served as a confirmation to them that perhaps they need to keep digging a little more and keep asking those hard questions to truly understand why they believe what they believe.
No matter how long their “eyes have been opened,” we have been able to point them to resources to discover more information on:
- Word of Faith/Prosperity gospel
- New Apostolic Reformation/Hyper-charismatic
- Moralistic Therapeutic Deism/Purpose-driven/seeker-senstive
- Social Justice gospel (please click the link to listen to sound teachers on this subject also check out Just Thinking Podcast with Darrel Harrison & Virgil Walker)
We have also been able to guide them to sound teachers and solid, Biblical churches in their area (see our Resource page for more info!).
The Lord has given us an unexpected ministry through this experience, and we are greatly humbled and honored to minister and encourage anyone we can and help them not feel alone on the journey.
Although we have received questions about the Bible, we want everyone to know that we are not standing in the role of pastor or teacher.
As believers, we feel called to expose error wherever we see it and stand for truth. We are merely “glorified arrows” (a term coined by our friend Katie of @theBereanMillenial on IG 😉) pointing you to truth and helpful and Biblical information that will equip you and spur you on in your race.
We do not want our ministry to be known as “the people who call out Joyce Meyer,” but in in the coming weeks, we may address some common questions we receive about her. One particular question pertains to audio clips of Joyce that were used in our interview with Doreen. In these clips, Joyce proclaims some extremely alarming and heretical statements about Jesus being born-again in hell and atoning for our sins in hell and not on the cross. We also address these concerns of grave error, among others, in our manifesto that was presented to the executives of JMM, including the CEO, Dan Meyer- Joyce’s son. Sadly, our concerns were dismissed and ignored.
As always, we are so grateful for all of the support and encouragement we receive from all of you. We thoroughly enjoy reading all of the messages, emails, and comments that we receive every single day. Knowing that the Lord has taken our story and that it has helped even just one person would have been enough. Never would we have imagined that it would reach millions all over the world. We give all the glory to God and thank Him for being a small part in what He is doing in the earth as pulls His sheep out of the hands of wolves and out of the trap of deception.

Thank you both so much for your ministry. The gospel is the best news, how sad that it’s been trashed by false teachers. Yet there is still time if they repent and confess their error before an awesome God. He is mighty to save! We should pray they see the truth before it’s too late as we know what the consequences are.
During lockdown I discovered Doreen and many of the above. Thank you for these resources.
I love Nathan Busenitz’s talks on church history and have learned so much. How ignorant I was! Do search him out if you haven’t already.
I am so grateful for the Lord Jesus and his atoning sacrifice in my life and all those who believe in him and know him personally as their Lord and Saviour.
So many people think highly of Joyce. She is funny and witty but that’s not sharing the gospel or telling people about sin and repentance. Some of her “shows” are so puerile and frankly ridiculous. How can people be taken in by such tomfoolery? For a start, women shouldn’t preach. It’s humiliating to a man and goes against the order as laid out in Genesis.
I could go on but I think we agree on the authority of scripture.
Thanks again and many blessings on your ministry.
Grace
Grace, thank you for this comment and for the encouragement! Yes, we enjoy Nathan Busenitz’s teachings as well! We agree with all you said. May scripture light the way and may eyes be opened to such foolishness! All glory to God!
Amazing article thanks for the update and Praise our Father in heaven for his great mercy!
Amen! All glory to God!
I just found you. I have been searching. It started from living terrified as the world shut down and ended up with me looking to find that the evil was also in the church. My church, maybe most churches. I was born again when I was 6. My mom led me to the Lord. I have always known that the gospel was the truth but was not well versed in the Word of God. I grew up in a conservative baptist church but moved away from that as a young adult.
I am 59 and as I look back, I have been in some form of WOF teaching ever since. I have struggled to understand why I had such a hard time being a “good Christian”.
Jesus is coming for His Church. I want to be ready. Thank you for sharing your testimony on Doreens show. I look forward to going through the resources you have listed. In Christ, Janine Jorgensen.
Thank you for sharing and for the encouragement! 🙂
So great to hear your interview about WOF heresy. I did not know very much about this theology having grown up Reformed. But it helped me a great deal to understand this better. I was always repelled by Joyce Meyer, but did not know her teachings, and now I am horrified. I recognize that I have a friend who talks like this and prays like this. I thought she was just emotional. Now I am concerned for her and her skepticism of Reformed churches, as lacking the Spirit. Thanks for addressing that. Thanks for sharing and teaching others!
Thank you so much for the encouragement!
Thank you so much for your respectful revelations about your experiences in the “prosperity” world, given in your interview with Doreen Virtue. Your concern for the body of Christ is evident and appreciated and I benefited from your warning!
All glory to God! Thank you for your encouragement!
I just came across your website and ministry this morning! Several years ago, when living in Wisconsin, we began to learn more about the dangers of the Charismatic movement because of an incident which occurred in the church we were attending and the pastor’s way of handling it which was encouraging visions. We felt uncomfortable with this and began studying God’s Word on the subject, and then were given a set of tapes by John MacArthur about the movement from my brother-in-law. We became convinced it is God’s Word alone that we should depend on and not experiences. Not long after that, my husband was given a job offer in California. He decided to accept it and after we relocated, realized we were only about a half hour drive from Grace Community Church! We have been attending there ever since and have such security in knowing we will only be taught God’s Word and not a false gospel. Thank you for what you are doing to help counter this movement and turn people to God’s Word ALONE!
